123-Reg has been known for automatically invoicing people for domains they didn’t order or want in the past and it looks like they’re at it again. 123-Reg promised customers their past practices of automatically registering and billing for .uk domains was a mistake. But at least one customer has found themselves with a bill and been charged automatically for domains they didn’t order.
The customer found himself the unhappy owner of 5 .uk domain names to the total of £71.93. 123-Reg explicitly state they do not charge customers for domains they didn’t request.
The domain registration company have insisted that this is an isolated incident and the customer has been refunded but sometimes these things go unnoticed by beginners not knowing what the charges are for is a common issue when it comes to setting up websites and businesses online.
We do have to say 123-Reg‘s customer satisfaction and performance is usually very high and everyone is capable of making mistakes but costly mistakes you shouldn’t have to fight to reclaim.
With so many companies having introductory offers with unclear pricing after the initial signup to hidden charges or addons you assumed would be included. It’s important to know exactly what you’re paying for.
